Day Kimball Healthcare’s Northeast Connecticut Cancer Fund (the Fund) is the recipient of a donation amounting to more than $13,700 from SPIROL International Corporation, a global manufacturer headquartered in Danielson, Connecticut. This donation marks the fourth consecutive year that funds raised through SPIROL’s robust employee giving program have been earmarked for this fund.
To date, SPIROL International and its employees have donated more than $50,000 towards the Fund, and have pledged their support for a fifth year. In addition to designating the company’s annual employee giving campaign to the Fund, SPIROL employees will raise money by hosting various philanthropic events throughout the year. The company has also committed to participating in DKH sponsored fundraising events in 2023, including Guest Bartender Night, Beer and Winetasting, and Cruise, BBQ & Brew Motorcycle and Car Cruise.
"The SPIROL team has come through once again, continuing to raise the bar when it comes to their generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment to our community,” said Kristen Willis, Director of Development, Day Kimball Healthcare. “They work incredibly hard to fundraise for the NECT Cancer Fund of DKH within their company, and they’ve become an integral partner in the success of DKH’s annual fundraising events that support this particular cause. SPIROL's employees are most certainly 'walking the walk' when it comes to their company culture of community service and giving, and we couldn't be more grateful to be the beneficiaries of their efforts."
SPIROL is passionate about giving back to its local communities by supporting local organizations that make a tangible difference in the environment and in the lives of others. Corporate citizenship has been a SPIROL mandate from its founding leaders 60 years ago and remains an area the company and its employees are passionate about today.
"While SPIROL has always maintained its commitment to our community, it is our people who take that commitment and turn it into a reality,” said Jeff Koehl, Chief Executive Officer, SPIROL. “SPIROL is incredibly fortunate to have such an outstanding team, who are generous with their time and work tirelessly to support the Northeast CT Cancer Fund. We are proud of what we have achieved together, and look forward to continuing our relationship with Day Kimball Healthcare in our fight against cancer and our quest to support those who are impacted by it."
"It has been another great year working with the Day Kimball Healthcare Foundation team in unison towards the common goal of supporting our community through funding to assist with cancer treatment and support,” said Matt Bartlett, Manufacturing Manager and Employee Giving Chair, SPIROL. “As the years have gone on, I am happy to see the collaboration between SPIROL and Day Kimball Hospital grow stronger and the giving program continue to sustain in order to serve people in need."
The Fund depends on the support and philanthropy of businesses like SPIROL and people in the community it serves, and provides financial assistance to help pay for cancer-related screening and treatment services to individuals living in Northeast Connecticut.
