Day Kimball Healthcare’s (DKH) Dueling Pianos inaugural event, held on Saturday, November 12 at The Raceway Golf Club and Restaurant in Thompson, raised over $20,000 to benefit DKH at Home's in-home care programs which include HomeMakers, HomeCare, and Hospice & Palliative Care.
DKH was pleased to host this first-of-its-kind fundraising event, featuring Savage Pianos, a high-energy rock & roll dueling piano show, whose talented musicians are recognized as headline entertainers around the world. The group performed a variety of upbeat songs ranging from Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline to Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk and more. Over 225 guests attended and made song requests throughout the night, raising a total of $900 in tips for the event.
“Through the community’s generous support, we are able to continue providing high-quality care, compassionate care to our patients and families,” said Renee Smith, Vice President, Post Acute Services, Day Kimball Healthcare. “Our at home services team celebrates the lives of those we have the privilege of serving, and we are grateful for the ongoing efforts of our community in support of our mission.”
"We are so grateful for the overwhelming response from the community for this inaugural fundraising event,” said Kristen Willis, Director of Development, Day Kimball Healthcare. “We are so pleased with how this event came together with the help of volunteers, donors, and sponsors – with their support, the event was a huge success! The night was filled with countless audience song requests, singing, dancing, and endless enjoyment for all who attended. The funds raised will directly benefit our in-home care patients and their families by supporting services that are not normally covered by insurance. Our crowd was 100% behind these efforts, and it showed all night long!”
Community members and local business owners made the evening possible through sponsorships, raffle donations, dessert platter donations, and ticket sales. Foxwoods Resort Casino was the presenting sponsor for this event. Gold sponsors included Roger Franklin, NE CT Healthcare Credit Union, and Weiss, Hale, & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Advisors. Hit Single Sponsors included CNA Bootcamp of Connecticut, Gerardi Insurance Services, Jezierski Plumbing & Heating, Matulaitis Rehabilitation & Skilled Care, The Medlyn Family, and Richard Wilcon, MD and Ellen Salurand, MD.
