The Day Kimball Healthcare Foundation “Dueling Pianos” event raised $25,000 for Day Kimball Health’s in-home care services, including HomeCare and Hospice & Palliative Care. Presented by WIN Waste Innovations, the fundraiser took place on Saturday, Nov. 9 at The Raceway Golf Club and Restaurant in Thompson, CT. Proceeds from the event will directly support DKH patients and their families by funding vital services not typically covered by insurance, ensuring they receive high-quality, compassionate care in the comfort of their homes.
The event featured a high-energy performance by Savage Pianos, a nationally renowned dueling piano show known for its interactive, energetic rock & roll infused show. The talented musicians entertained a sold-out crowd of 250 guests with hits ranging from Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” to Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club,” contributing $1,000 in tips towards the total amount raised.
“We were truly appreciative of this year’s turnout and grateful for the unwavering support and generosity of our community,” said Renee Smith, vice president of post-acute services at Day Kimball Health. “Thank you to our sponsors, donors, and attendees for their contributions, which were instrumental in making this event a success. Your support ensures that patients in our community continue to receive essential in-home care programs.”
The fundraiser was made possible by the generosity of community members and business partners through sponsorships, raffle donations, dessert platter donations, monetary donations, and ticket sales, as well as the support of Jim Terrien and The Raceway Golf Club and Restaurant for donating the venue.
In addition to Presenting Sponsor WIN Waste Innovations, major sponsors included Centreville Bank as the Diamond Record Sponsor with Linemaster Switch and Weiss, Hale & Zahansky Strategic Wealth Partners as Platinum Record Sponsors. Gold Record Sponsors included Gerardi Insurance Hilb Group, Heritage Valley Ford, Rawson Materials, and Sever Pharma Solutions.
Henry and Cheryl Medlyn contributed as Hit Single Sponsors, and the Top 100 sponsors included American Legion Post #13, Saul and Sandra Ahola, Cynthia de Bruyn Kops, Betty Edwards, Jewett City Savings Bank, Jezierski Plumbing & Heating, Inc., Bernice Mansfield, Matulaitis Rehabilitation & Skilled Care, Richard Morse, and Caroline Sloat.
Local bakeries contributed an array of desserts, including donations from Caylee’s Kitchen, Keith’s Kreations, Matthew’s Catering, Renee’s Catering, Sadie's Sweet Shop, Soleil and Suns Bakery, and The Victorian Village and Bakery.
“We are delighted by the overwhelming response and extremely grateful for the level of support that we received for this event,” said Director of Development Kristen Willis, Day Kimball Health. “This year’s event sold out weeks in advance, with many of our dedicated supporters expressing heartfelt gratitude for the level of care that they or their loved ones had received from our at-home services. There was genuine excitement about joining us for a repeat performance of Savage Pianos resulting in an atmosphere of positivity and energy that was off the charts from beginning to end.”
