The Community Champion award is presented to an individual that has made a substantive, yet unrecognized, contribution to our community. The award recognizes an individual who has influenced our community from behind the scenes with a positive attitude, a willingness to help in a variety of capacities, and a commitment to excellence.
“In his roles as a general surgeon, former president of the Day Kimball medical staff, and on our board of directors, I have had the personal and professional good fortune to work closely with Dr. Baum for the last several years,” said Kyle Kramer, chief executive officer, Day Kimball Health. “He has been a major contributor to the health and well-being of Northeast Connecticut and has done it in his own quiet and unassuming way. He is a leader and trusted physician to many, and he has been a pivotal part of Day Kimball’s ongoing advancement,” Kramer said.
“Dr. Baum’s tenure and leadership at DKH, coupled with establishing himself as a distinguished member of the community, have served to not only advance healthcare services locally but have also significantly improved the community at large,” Kramer continued. “For these reasons and more, the entire team at Day Kimball Health congratulates and applauds Dr. Baum for being recognized by the Chamber for this most distinct honor.”
