Aleksandra "Ola" Strelczuk phlebotomist for Day Kimball Health’s Laboratory and Blood Draw Services department, has been named employee of the month for January by Day Kimball Health (DKH).

Since beginning her career in phlebotomy with DKH in 2008, Ola has played a crucial role in providing essential blood draws for our patients. Initially working on-site, she eventually transitioned to the role of a traveling phlebotomist, serving various local skilled nursing homes and residences across Northeast Connecticut.

Her dedication to her patient’s well-being extends beyond the clinical setting, evident in the appreciation expressed by those she assists, especially when considering the challenges many people face when having bloodwork done.

“Ola has been a valued member of our phlebotomy team since 2008. She not only holds the distinction of being our longest-serving phlebotomist but also serves as our primary travel phlebotomist,” said Kyle Kramer, DKH chief executive officer. “For many patients, travel phlebotomy is necessary for their health and safety, and Ola’s dedicated service ensures that patients receive necessary bloodwork without the hardship of having to visit the hospital or one of our offsite blood draw locations. Ola is truly an asset to DKH, and we are very fortunate to have her as a member of our team."

Beyond her professional commitments, Ola remains deeply rooted in the community, residing locally with her two children, and has been coaching their recreational softball and basketball teams for several years.
