Day Kimball Health (DKH) at Home recently honored two employees with its 2024 “Homecare Hero” award. The award recognizes employees who demonstrate exceptional dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients in their homes while embodying the mission and values of DKH.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” said Renee Smith, RN, MSN, vice president of post-acute services at Day Kimball Health. “Our Homecare Heroes exemplifies the expertise, compassion, and determination needed to ensure our patients and clients receive the best possible care in the comfort of their homes. Their efforts make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many here in Northeast Connecticut.”

Staff members are nominated by their peers, highlighting the collaborative spirit and mutual respect that drives the success of the program. This year’s award recipients were selected for exceeding the highest standards of care and demonstrating extraordinary work ethic, compassion, and advocacy.

The 2024 award recipients are:

• Joann Roy, HHA – Dianne Dupere-Lindell Award for Excellence in Homecare. This award honors an individual who embodies the traits of the late Dianne Dupere-Lindell, a beloved Day Kimball HomeCare nurse known for her grace, poise, humor, and advocacy. Joann’s dedication to her patients, her team-oriented mindset, and her innovative approach to care reflect Dianne’s legacy.
• Ann DiPierdomenico, LMSW – Ann Edwards Award for Excellence in Hospice Care. This award is presented to an employee who exemplifies the compassionate and holistic approach championed by the late Ann Edwards, a passionate advocate for hospice care. Ann DiPierdomenico’s unwavering commitment to collaboration, mentorship, and patient-centered care makes her a deserving recipient of this honor.

“Our team members are the heart of our organization,” added Smith. “They bring skill, empathy, and innovation to their work, enriching the lives of our patients and strengthening the communities we serve. Recognizing their contributions through the Homecare Hero program is one of the many ways we celebrate their remarkable impact.”

DKH at Home provides a comprehensive range of compassionate, in-home care services tailored to the needs of Northeast Connecticut residents.
